s A. BACKGROUND My name is James Owusu Antwi, CEO of Akyedze Farms and Consultancy. I am a full-time farmer. EDUCATION 1. Bachelor in General Agricultural 2. Masters in Agricultural Economics 3. Masters in Agribusiness 4. Post Graduate diploma in vet medicine ( specialization in poultry) 5. Post graduate diploma in Animal nutrition. 6. PhD in Agricultural Economics ( not done yet). I am into Layer Production (Major), Rabbit, Grasscutter, Quails, Turkeys, Guinea Pigs, Sheep, Goat, and Dog breeding.
I started rabbit farming with 16 Does and 5 Bucks two and Half years ago at Agona Swedru (Central Region of Ghana). My breeding stock was obtained from Farmer Brown and a guy from Cote d'Ivoire. I started keeping those 21 rabbit as pet. I kept them for almost a year and half without breeding.Yes, I know the bosses will ask themselves why will this guy keep all these rabbit as pet. That is why you need to join the Greater Accra Rabbit Farmers Association (GARFA) for expert Guidance and coaching with regards to commercial rabbits production. So that you can also enjoy the Gold mining as described by the CEO of Rabbit Masters. Somewhere around July this year , my only boss Aisha (Hajia 1) introduced me to GARFA through Emmanuel Obossu to join this Big Association and I must admit I have learnt a lot from bosses like Ato, Kamara and Mohamed. After submitting my plan and budget to Adanko Bawumia ( Dav Boat Rabbit) ,I finally Increased my Doe units from 16 to 80 upon his recommendation and shall further add 70 Does by January, 2021 to hit 150 Doe units.
